Brant Bjork has been at the heart of Californian desert rock for over a quarter - century. He honed his skills as a drummer and composer on the legendary early albums of Kyuss and drove the iconic fuzz sound of Fu Manchu from 1994 to 2001. In 2024, the Brant Bjork Trio, featuring Mario Lalli, an old friend and a key figure in desert rock, on bass guitar and Ryan Güt, an alumnus of the Brant Bjork band, on drums, is launching a standout full - length LP on Brant's newly revived DUNA RECORDS label. The new release, 'Once Upon A Time In The Desert', is the fruit of a long - standing collaborative friendship among Bjork, Lalli, and Güt. The power trio recorded the tracks at Donner & Blitzen studios in Southern California with Mathias Shneeberger, a long - time collaborator. The music they create is a thick, flowing groove of authentic desert rock & roll. These seasoned musicians helped shape the genre, and this record embodies the essence of the So Cal desert style - pure, heavy, and full of grooves. It's the So Cal desert blues that only these desert originators can offer. Track Listing: 1. U.R. Free 2. Backin’ The Daze 3. Higher Lows 4. Down The Mountain 5. Magic Surfer Magazine 6.
