'The Pestilence' adds five intense compositions to Centinex's death - metal records. Since 1990, Centinex has built a great reputation. As the older sibling of the well - known underground band Demonical, Centinex operates in a similar sonic space but leans towards a less melodic and more traditional death - metal style, emphasizing austerity, brutality, and unique riffs. Bassist and founder Martin Shulman, who is also the key songwriter for Centinex, said about 'The Pestilence': 'Influenced by the old thrash scene, especially the German one, this release takes us back to Centinex's early days. It's also something new and a direction we'll likely explore more in the future. We think the past of extreme metal was better, so we're looking back. Production - wise, we aimed for an old - school, organic sound, different from today's standard.'
The EP was recorded, mixed, and mastered by Jonas Arnberg at Sellnoise Studios in Sweden between June and July 2021. The cover photo was taken by Susan Wicher, and the artwork was created by Dwi Nugraha.
