Jordsjø, a duo hailing from Oslo, Norway, pays homage to the finest Nordic rock of the last century. They masterfully blend progressive rock with enchanting melodies and a folk - inspired touch. Their album 'Pastoralia' takes listeners on a musical odyssey, starting from minimalist mellotron passages and building up to full - blown rock storms. It's a must - have for fans of Scandinavian prog and a hidden treasure for newbies. Inspired by Olivier Messiaen, (German) Popol Vuh, and Anthony Braxton, as well as Scandinavian folklore, jazz, and early British prog, 'Pastoralia' is Jordsjø's third studio album. It delves deeper into jazzy and progressive musical realms. Recorded and produced entirely by Jordsjø between March and November 2020 in the basement of Bjørnerud Farm in Våler, Østfold, the album is themed around dreams, a yearning for freedom, and the fictional 'Pastoralia' - a place where each day feels like a tropical night in Northern Norway, with forest folk dancing around campfires. The band features multi - instrumentalist Håkon Oftung (Tusmørke, Black Magic) and drummer Kristian Frøland, along with guest appearances from Ola Mile Bruland (Actionfredag), Håkon Knutzen, Vilde Mortensen Storesund, Mats Lemjan, Christian Meaas Svendsen, and Åsa Ree (MEER, Tusmørke, Wobbler).
