Veteran Norwegian dark metallers AETERNUS are all set to unleash 'Heathen', their highly anticipated eighth full - length album. This seven - track gem is a straightforward, hard - hitting assault on your ears and souls, courtesy of a true legend from the Bergen metal scene. Recorded at Bergen’s Conclave & Earshot studios and produced by Herbrand Larsen (ex - Enslaved), it's set to be released by Dark Essence Records on October 12th. A pioneer of the 'Dark Metal' genre, AETERNUS was founded in 1993 by guitarist and frontman Ares. Ares, a veteran of the vibrant Bergen music scene, has jammed with some of the top bands in black and extreme metal, like IMMORTAL and GORGOROTH. Aeternus combines elements of black and death metal, adding haunting, melodic parts, all delivered with excellent musicianship.
