Gold LP. AETERNUS, a pioneering band in Dark Metal, was founded by Ares in 1993 in Bergen, Norway. They blend Black Metal and Death Metal with classical and folk music elements. Their unique sound comes from layering excellent guitar playing and haunting, melodious interludes. The current band members include guitarist/vocalist Ares, guitarist Gorm, bassist Eld, and drummer Phobos, who are current or former members of Gorgoroth, Immortal (live), and Gaahls Wyrd. 'Philosopher' was recorded, produced, and mixed by the band and Herbrand Larsen at Conclave and Earshot Studios (known for Immortal, Enslaved) and mastered by Lawrence Mackrory at Rorysound Studio (associated with Bloodbath, Vomitory).
