Details
LEGEND, a progressive death/black metal project hailing from St. Louis, MO, has released their first EP titled Charging the Field. The EP's mixing was skillfully handled by the well - known Swedish producer and musician Dan Swanö, who has worked with bands like EDGE OF SANITY, BLOODBATH, KATATONIA, and OPETH. This EP is a result of a great collaboration between the band and Mark Kloeppel from MISERY INDEX. The band recorded all drums and main guitar parts at Apollo Audio with their band member and engineer Ryan Mullins, who also took care of the tracking for MISERY INDEX's contribution to the Decibel Magazine Flexi - Series. Mark from MISERY INDEX shared, 'At first, Ryan Mullins and Jesse Schobel, the main songwriters of LEGEND, invited me to do a guest vocal on a song, which ended up being much more. It's an awesome collaboration with my long - time friends. Ryan is the audio engineer for Misery Index, and Jesse and I play in CAST THE STONE and CLENCHED FIST (TRIBUTE TO SELPULTURA). We hang out a lot. In the end, I rearranged, wrote, and recorded my own parts throughout the record. It was really fun to be creative with old friends and have the legendary Dan Swanö handling the mixing.' The track list includes: 1. Charging the Field (5:09), 2. Rebirth (6:02), 3. Sailing the Ice Seas of Europa (6:29), 4. Locusts of Man (7:02). The CD is released by Unholy Anarchy Records and is also available digitally through Imminence Records on 20 October 2017. The CD comes with a 6 - page insert featuring the lyrics.
